2024: My Best Year Yet (and now I can say I have Photographed Over 400 Weddings!)

Wow, where do I even begin? 2024 has been an absolute whirlwind, and honestly, the best year yet for my wedding photography. I've had the immense privilege of capturing love stories for nearly a decade now, and to think I've photographed over 50 weddings this year taking my all-time tally to way over 400 weddings shot is mind-blowing.

This year, I've had the pleasure of working with some of the coolest, most laid-back couples imaginable. You know the type: those who know exactly what they want (or, more importantly, don't want!) from their wedding photos. No cheesy poses, no awkward group shots, just genuine moments and authentic reflections of their love.

It's been incredibly rewarding to work with couples who trust my vision and allow me to do what I do best: capture the raw emotion and fleeting magic of their special day. Let's be honest, photographing 400+ weddings has taught me a thing or two. I've learned to navigate the chaos of a first dance, anticipate the perfect tear-jerking moment, and even master the art of wrangling unruly flower girls (seriously, those little ones have superpowers!).

But more than anything, I've learned that every wedding is unique, every couple is different, and every love story deserves its own special spotlight.

So, a massive thank you to all the amazing couples who chose me to document their weddings in 2024. You've made this year unforgettable. Here's to many more years of capturing love, laughter, and maybe even a few unexpected tears.

The main hall, with its soaring ceiling and stunning stained glass windows, is a truly breathtaking space that can be used for your ceremony, reception, or both. The hall can accommodate up to 300 guests and is equipped with a state-of-the-art sound system and lighting rig.

For smaller gatherings, the Auld Room is a cozy and intimate space that can be used for a civil ceremony or drinks reception. The room can accommodate up to 50 guests and features a beautiful fireplace and a grand piano.

The Gallery is a versatile space that can be used for a variety of purposes, such as a bridal suite, a waiting area, or a photo booth. The gallery is also home to a collection of artwork, which adds to the unique and inviting atmosphere of the venue.

Lisa and David's wedding at the idyllic Brig O'Doon was a true summer send-off. Despite the notoriously unpredictable Scottish summer, we were blessed with a day of glorious sunshine – a rare and precious gift in September. It felt like we were soaking up the last rays of summer warmth before the cooler months set in, creating a magical backdrop for their special day.

From the moment I arrived at the charming Kirkgate House and joined Lisa and her radiant bridesmaids, the atmosphere was electric with excitement and joy. Their warmth and infectious laughter immediately put me at ease, and I quickly felt like part of the celebration. Our shared love for the music of Chappell Roan provided an unexpected and delightful point of connection, adding a touch of musical camaraderie to the morning.

Throughout the day, there were several poignant moments dedicated to Lisa's father, creating a beautiful and touching tribute that filled the air with both sadness and a profound sense of love and remembrance.

Overall, Lisa and David's wedding was an unforgettable day filled with love, laughter, and sunshine. It was a true testament to their deep affection for one another and a celebration that will be cherished for years to come.
