Frequently Asked Questions

Below you'll find a list of common questions I am asked. Click any of the headings to get your answer. Of course if there is anything not listed that you want to ask please get in touch via my contact page.

Where are you based and where do you cover?

I am based in the Southside of Glasgow and cover up to a 50 mile radius from this area. If you are looking to book out with or beyond this radius do not hesitate to contact me directly and we can discuss this further.

What do you do for formal photos?

Prior to the wedding, I would ask for a list of any formal photos you would like and this can be as short or long as you wish. I would do the usual images eg. Parents, siblings, bridal party, etc, but in most cases I would be meeting most of your guests for the first time, so would ask if you have a trusted groomsmen/bridesmaid/guest who can help gather guests for the shots you want. I tend to not spend too much time on the formal photos, as I know most would want to mingle with their guests.

How many images do I get?

You receive as many images as I feel make a complete final package - with the approximate being 300-500 images in my own editing style, in high resolution with no watermark that you have full copyright for. This is just an estimate, but I try to take a mixture of candid and formal photos for the day.

Do I get an USB or CD?

In this modern age, things are getting a little bit more advanced which means images can be sent to you quicker! I use a site called WeTransfer which allows me to compress and send your images over to you as soon as I have finished editing them. All the images would be sent to you in a download link which you can share with friends and family who can also download copies also. If you wish to have a USB instead, then I would request an additional £10 per USB and have this mailed to you via special delivery.

Can you photograph both the bride and the groom preparation photos?

On the day, I normally focus on the brides preparations, however if by chance the groom is getting ready within the same house/hotel then I’d be happy to do this. I would be at the ceremony location before the bride so I can get shots of the groom and his groom party prior to the ceremony.

When do you arrive for bridal prep?

If you are getting ready within the venue, I would ideally arrive 2 and a half hours before the ceremony. This would give me enough time to take photos of your dress, jewellery, gifts, and cards. I like to start taking photo of the bride just when she is getting the finishing touches to her make up.

If you are getting ready not within the venue, then if you can please let me know the location of your preparations and I can plan my time accordingly

How long do you stay for?

Most of my packages include up to the third dance. So it would be just when the party is starting that I would leave for you to enjoy your night. There is options for me to stay later than this but this would be charged accordingly.

How long does editing take?

Editing time takes around 6 weeks. You would get an email with your WeTransfer link of all your images edited and in high quality for you to use however you please as soon as they are ready.

Are we okay to have a meeting?

Yes, I hold my meetings regularly in the Starbucks in Silverburn, or anywhere in the Glasgow area during the week, if you let me know what day suits then I can see if I’m free

Do we get to see the unedited photos?

It is vital to show you the best work which is why I edit all my images before showing you. There is a long process of editing and I like to go through every image that was taken on the day, this includes removing any images that may be out of focus, off centre or just unflattering. RAW images are also very large files so transferring all these to you would take a very long time (and a very large USB) to get them to you, so this is why we do not offer this as an option.

Do we feed you on the day?

I wouldn’t expect to be fed on the day. If you’re happy to supply a meal then I would speak with the venue to find out where would be the best place to be while you eat.

How do we book?

If you are happy with everything and have chosen a package catered to yourself, then I would send you over T&Cs and an invoice on how to pay the deposit of £200 which is non-refundable. This would secure your booking and I’d be all yours for your wedding day. I would ask for your remaining payment a maximum of 2 weeks before the wedding day.

What do you need from me before the day?

I would contact you at least a month before proceedings to get all the info for your day. If you can let me know the full confirmed timings for the day and also if you can make up a list of any formal shots you would like too. 2 weeks before the wedding day I would ask for the remaining balance also.
