Frequently Asked Questions
-
Where are you based and where do you cover?
I am based in the Southside of Glasgow and cover all over Scotland! If you are thinking of traveling a wee bit further than that then please let me know and we can see what we can do!
-
What do you do for formal photos?
Prior to the wedding, I would ask for a list of any formal photos you would like and this can be as short or long as you wish. I would do the usual images eg. Parents, siblings, bridal party, etc, but in most cases I would be meeting most of your guests for the first time, so would ask if you have a trusted groomsmen/bridesmaid/guest who can help gather guests for the shots you want. I tend to not spend too much time on the formal photos, as I know most would want to mingle with their guests.
-
How do I receive the images?
I’ll email your finished images in your own online gallery where you can download the images in HQ (best for printing) or web size (best for uploading to Facebook/instagram). I never delete this gallery so it’s there for you to view forever! You will have full control of the gallery and can invite all your friends and family to it who can star/pick their favourites and download images themselves to use! I am happy for you to use the images for whatever! (Just remember to tag me of course).
-
Can you photograph both the bride and the groom preparation photos?
On the day, I normally focus on the brides preparations, however if by chance the groom is getting ready within the same house/hotel then I’d be happy to do this. I would be at the ceremony location before the bride so I can get shots of the groom and his groom party prior to the ceremony.
-
When do you arrive for bridal prep?
If you are getting ready within the venue, I would ideally arrive 2 hours before the ceremony. This would give me enough time to take photos of your dress, jewellery, gifts, and cards. I like to start taking photo of the bride just when she is getting the finishing touches to her make up.
If you are getting ready not within the venue, then if you can please let me know the location of your preparations and I can plan my time accordingly -
Do you offer a second shooter?
Yes I do! I have some friends in the wedding photography industry who are happy to come and help out! A second shooter is perfect if you wish to have more coverage including photographing both of your morning preps! All the images would be edited and sorted by myself so they are all coherent! The charge for a second shooter is £300 and the full amount goes to the shooter itself (I don’t take any money for this myself, I’m just happy I have someone helping me!)
-
How long does editing take?
Editing time takes around 8 weeks! However during busy periods (like Summer peak season) I may be 10 weeks tops. I try not to rush through your images so you are getting the best quality! If you are wanting a rough idea of when your images would be done after the wedding then just fire me over a message and I’m happy to give you an update!
-
Are we okay to have a meeting?
If you want to meet face to face, then I’m happy to! I tend to hold my meetings at the Starbucks at Silverburn during the week, but I’m also happy to do a Zoom meeting (my dog likes to say hi, too!)
-
Do we get to see the unedited photos?
It is vital to show you the best work which is why I edit all my images before showing you. There is a long process of editing and I like to go through every image that was taken on the day, this includes removing any images that may be out of focus, off centre or just unflattering. RAW images are also very large files so transferring all these to you would take a very long time (and a very large USB) to get them to you, so this is why we do not offer this as an option.
-
Do we feed you on the day?
I wouldn’t expect to be fed on the day. If you’re happy to supply a meal then I would speak with the venue to find out where would be the best place to be while you eat.
-
How do we book?
If you are happy with everything and have chosen a package catered to yourself, then I would send you over T&Cs. The deposit I would ask for would be 25% of the package you have chosen and this would be non-refundable. This would secure your booking and I’d be all yours for your wedding day. I would ask for your remaining payment 4 weeks before the wedding day.
-
What do you need from me before the day?
I would contact you at least 6 weeks before the wedding and send you over a questionnaire for you to fill out. If you can let me know the full confirmed timings for the day and also if you can make up a list of any formal shots you would like too.
-
Do you do video?
I do offer a joint package with a talented videographer who can cover the day (if we are both free) and we have worked together on loads of weddings in the past and we are comfortable with working with each other. If this is something you are interested in then please get in touch and if we are both available would love to both shoot your day!
-
What happens after the wedding?
When I get home, I upload all your RAW images to my computer and back them up so they are safe! I go through 40 of the best moments of the day and send you a wee preview so you can do your big announcement on Facebook or Instagram! Please let me know who your other suppliers were who worked on your day so I can tag them when I upload the images too!
