Francesca and Andrew got married at the 23 Montrose Street in Glasgow early at around 10:30am in the morn with their family and doggo present. It's always wonderful to do weddings in the centre of Glasgow as there is literally thousands of options for photo ideas while you're right bang in the centre. After they got wed, we headed round to the arches round the corner for some shots, and then walked to George Sq where a peaceful protest was taking place. After doing a wee bit of dodging, Francesca + Andrew and I walked towards Princes Square where they got engaged the year prior. They had this image of recreating the moment they got engaged again on their wedding day. When we were walking down the escalator I looked over and just pictured Andrew and Francesca standing right in the centre of the shopping centre having a kiss. Which is what we did. I think it may be one of my all time favourite photos I've taken.
After a wee couple hours break, we reconnected again at the Savings Bank on Bridge Street. I have drove by this building thousands of times but never knew it existed. Once you get there you are presented with this beautiful neoclassical style building with a striking ceiling inside. On the screens we had the photos from that day on display for all their evening guests to view (yes I edited during break). Once everyone had arrived they capped off the evening with a good ol' cèilidh.
Defo one wedding I'll never forget.
Catherine + Christopher! What can I say about them? They were probably the smiliest couple I've ever met. Literally the full day they were grinning from ear to ear. I had met them initially when I shot Christopher sister Paula's wedding a few years prior so it was nice to see everyone again!
The Lochside Hotel provided the perfect backdrop for this November wedding, adding an extra touch of charm and elegance to the already picturesque affair. This was the first time I had been back since they big refurb and oh my - it's huge! Not many places in Scotland you wouldn't mind staying the whole day inside for even if it rained - you're really spoiled for choice on locations inside for photos!
If you're getting married at the Lochside House in the future, please message cause I bloody love shooting there.
Samantha + Fionnlagh are clearly besotted with each other after meeting them for their pre-wedding shoot. They reached out last year to ask me to be their photographer for their wedding for Summer 2023 at the Fruin Farm and I can't wait. Have a wee look at my previous blog post from my last time there!
When we met at the Botanical Garden in Glasgow it was awfully chilly. Here I was wearing my biggest warm jacket and there was Samantha + Fionnlagh wearing a t-shirt and cardigan. I don't know how they managed! The park itself was gearing itself up for the GLOW festival so we were lucky it wasn't as busy as usual.
We walked for an hour round the park while they held each others hands and spoke about what films and tv they were currently watching. They had already finished The Watcher and I was just starting it (wouldn't recommend it btw). And I recommend the film Smile after just seeing it the night prior. (best horror film in years tbh).
We ended our wee hour in the park down by this red and golden tree near the entrance of the park, before they headed off for a wee afternoon date round the West End of Glasgow. I'll definitely won't have any problems with awkward poses with this pair! A pair of naturals.
It was an absolutely stunning day at Saint Luke's & The Winged Ox for Derek and Natalie's wedding celebration! After facing a few reschedules, it was incredible to finally witness their special day surrounded by numerous friends and family members. You never have a dull day at Saint Luke's; this beautiful old church is one of my favourite Glasgow City venues.
In addition to the heartfelt ceremony, we had the unique opportunity to sneak into the iconic Barrowlands for some truly memorable photographs.
A huge congratulations to the happy couple on their remarkable day!
